Where is Tanderra Ski Lodge located?
Tanderra Ski Lodge is situated at Mount Hotham, Victoria, Australia, directly opposite Bus Stop 8 on the Great Alpine Road. This prime location offers easy access to the Hotham Snow Bus and convenient car unloading at the front door.
What types of accommodation does Tanderra offer?
The lodge features 10 bedrooms with various configurations, accommodating up to 45 guests. Room options range from 2-bunk to 6-bunk rooms, suitable for couples, families, and groups.
What facilities are available at the lodge?
Tanderra offers two large lounge areas (one with a cozy open fire), two modern fully equipped kitchens, a ski room, a large efficient drying room, and free Wi-Fi. The lodge also boasts awesome views of Swindlers Valley and Mount Feathertop.
Is the lodge family-friendly?
Yes, Tanderra is known for its family-friendly atmosphere, offering a fun kids’ play zone with a toboggan slope and fire pit at the back of the lodge.
Is there a kitchen I can use?
Yes, there are two fully equipped kitchens with fridges, stoves, microwaves, dishwashers, and cooking utensils. Shared pantry items may be available, but it’s best to bring your own staples.
Is there a dining area?
Yes, there are communal dining spaces with amazing views—ideal for both shared dinners and quiet meals after a big day.
Is there parking available?
Parking is managed by Mt Hotham Resort, and in winter, vehicles are parked in long-term carparks with free snow buses that drop you right at Bus Stop 8—directly across from Tanderra’s front door.
Can I unload my gear at the lodge?
Yes—you can unload luggage and gear at the front door before parking your car. The location is incredibly convenient for families or groups with lots of equipment.
Booking and Rates
How can I make a booking?
Winter bookings can be made online via the lodge’s booking system. For summer bookings, inquiries should be directed via email, as summer dates are disabled on the booking system. BOOK HERE
What are the accommodation rates?
Rates vary depending on the season and room type. Members enjoy significantly reduced rates, with examples from previous seasons indicating as low as $12.50 per bed per night during shoulder season. VIEW RATES
Are there discounts available for equipment hire?
Yes, all Tanderra guests receive a 25% discount on ski and board hire from Snow Monkey, which has locations at Mt Hotham and other areas.

Are rooms private or shared?
Rooms are private per booking group, but guests should be aware that bathrooms and living areas are shared communal spaces, in true ski club style.
Is there somewhere to store gear?
Yes. There’s a secure ski and board room and a large drying room to keep your gear warm and ready for the next day.
Is there internet or phone reception?
Yes – Tanderra offers free Wi-Fi, and there is reasonable mobile coverage at the lodge.
Are the bathrooms private or shared?
Bathrooms at Tanderra Ski Club are communal but divided into separate male and female facilities. Each shower has its own lockable door and towel hooks for privacy and convenience. The main bathroom doors are also lockable, and all facilities are cleaned regularly to ensure a comfortable and hygienic experience for guests.
