Since 1968

A not for profit company aimed at promoting skiing and other alpine sporting pursuits.

Tanderra Ski Club was formed in 1968 with the initial building construction completed ready for occupancy in 1970. Tanderra represents a fine example of a traditional ski lodge which has been maintained and upgraded to keep pace with modern trends, but still retains the original atmosphere and spirit of traditional alpine lodges, which promotes enjoyment, friendship, sharing, skiing and the love of the alpine environment all year round.

Of the original 33 members, over half of those are still enthusiastically active in the club.  There are a small number of memberships for sale, with new members always welcome, as they inject new ideas and enthusiasm into our Club.

Our lodge has been designed to cater for both small and larger groups of guests and members.  The kitchens have recently been totally renovated to provide cooking facilities that would be the envy of a MasterChef!  We have 2 fully equipped kitchens, freezers, fridge and pantry storage for each room, 2 lounges, open fire, 4 bathrooms, ski room, very efficient drying room, independently controlled hydronic heating – everything that is required to ensure a very enjoyable and comfortable alpine experience of a lifetime.

  • Great accommodation for couples, a family or for larger groups.  Sleeps up to 45 persons in 10 bedrooms of variable configurations.
  • Just 50 metres from the Great Alpine Road (GAR) right in front of bus stop 8 and a visitor unloading area.  Unload straight from the car to the lodge.
  • Ski access trail to the bottom of the valley starts right in front of the lodge (Davenport Access Trail), or catch the reliable village transport.
  • Cross Country ski trails pass the back door.
  • Awesome views in every direction, particularly the front balcony which looks directly into Swindlers valley and to Mt Feathertop and Mt Loch beyond.
  • We care about the environment.  The Club is investing in energy conservation measures including double glazing, increasing insulation and heat retention, efficient heating systems, and most recently, solar panels to offset our electricity usage.
